Size Matters
Paul Boultbee has been an actor for many years and in 2003/2004 created a series of works based on theatre set design. These large paintings are a step in melding the visual arts and the performing arts, as each pair of paintings was created as a visual response to individual productions from Ignition Theatre's 2007/2008 season. Each pair hung in the Matchbox Theatre lobby during the run of each show.
Carole Epp – “The collectible figurines I produce subvert their traditional genre by revealing a more truthful representation of behavior and morality in contemporary society. An analysis of consumer culture is unveiled and dialogue is presented regarding the personal relationship one has with global events and politics.”
